Не е установено точно от кого и кога е била написана книгата Исус Навин. Съгласно древната традиция книгата е дело на самия Исус Навин, а други приемат, че книгата е плод на автор от по-късна епоха – след Вавилонския плен. Много от авторите обръщат внимание на връзката ѝ с книгите на Петокнижието, уводът се покрива с края на Второзаконие. Може да се предполага, че книгата е написана от неизвестен автор след смъртта на Исус Навин, но преди събитията, свързани със Саул, т. е. – не по-късно от 1050 г. пр. Хр. Основната богословска идея, изложена в книгата Исус Навин, е завземането и разпределянето на Обетованата земя, както и Божията вярност към Неговия народ: „… вие знаете с цялата си душа, че не остана неизпълнено нито едно от тези добри неща, които Господ , вашият Бог, говори за вас; всички те се сбъднаха за вас; ни едно от тях не остана неизпълнено“(И.Н. 23:14). Събитията, описани тук, не бива да се откъсват от тези, представени в Петокнижието. Заедно с това тя трябва да се разглежда в контекста на по-следващите събития – историята на живота на Израил в Обетованата земя, описани в следващите книги на Библията. When you click on a word, the detailed lexicon opens with:
'Vocabulary' Bibles link the translation to Greek & Hebrew. So far, only some Bibles have this vocabulary feature. They are shown in the Bible select screen with the letter 'V'.
It is the number of occurrences of a word in the Bible. Click on it to see them all in the selected Bible(s).
This reveals different forms for some words and names. These details are often interesting to scholars, eg the word 'beginning' in Genesis.
