Chiến Thắng của Người Do Thái
1Ngày mười ba tháng chạp là ngày thi hành đạo luật của vua—ngày các dân thù địch mong áp đảo người Do Thái—đã đổi thành ngày người Do Thái khắc phục kẻ thù. 2Người Do Thái tập họp tại các đô thị trong khắp các tỉnh của Vua A-suê-ru, đánh giết những người định hại mình, không một ai chống lại được, vì mọi người đều sợ người Do Thái. 3Nhà cầm quyền tại các tỉnh, các thống đốc, các tổng trấn và các viên chức hoàng gia—đều giúp đỡ người Do Thái vì kính nể Mạc-đô-chê. 4Mạc-đô-chê được tôn kính tại hoàng cung, tiếng tăm lừng lẫy khắp các tỉnh, uy quyền ngày càng mạnh. 5Người Do Thái dùng gươm tàn sát kẻ thù, đối xử với họ cách nào tùy ý. 6Tại kinh đô Su-sa, người Do Thái giết 500 người. 7Họ cũng xử tử Phạt-san-đa-tha, Đanh-phông, A-ba-tha, 8Phô-ra-tha, A-đa-lia, A-ri-đa-tha, 9Phạt-ma-sa-ta, A-ri-sai, A-ri-đai, và Va-giê-xa-tha, 10tức mười con trai của Ha-man, con Ha-mê-đa-tha, là kẻ thù của người Do Thái. Nhưng họ không tịch thu tài sản. 11Trong ngày đó, số người chết tại kinh đô Su-sa được tâu trình lên vua. 12Vua nói với Hoàng hậu Ê-xơ-tê: “Riêng tại Su-sa, người Do Thái đã giết 500 người, và mười con trai của Ha-man. Còn số tổn thất tại các tỉnh, ta chưa rõ. Bây giờ, nàng muốn gì, ta cũng chấp thuận; xin thêm gì nữa, ta cũng bằng lòng.” 13Hoàng hậu Ê-xơ-tê thưa: “Nếu đẹp ý vua, xin vua cho người Do Thái tại Su-sa ngày mai được phép hành động như ngày hôm nay, và xin vua cho treo mười con trai Ha-man lên giá treo cổ.” 14Vua chấp thuận cho thi hành. Sắc lệnh được công bố tại Su-sa, và người ta treo mười con trai Ha-man lên giá treo cổ. 15Ngày mười bốn tháng chạp, người Do Thái tại Su-sa tập họp và giết thêm 300 người, nhưng không tịch thu tài sản của họ. 16Người Do Thái tại các tỉnh trong đế quốc hội họp ngày mười ba tháng mười hai để tự bảo vệ tính mạng và tiêu diệt thù địch, giết 75.000 người, nhưng không tịch thu tài sản của họ. 17Qua ngày mười bốn họ nghỉ ngơi và ăn mừng chiến thắng. 18Còn người Do Thái tại Su-sa tập họp giết kẻ thù hai ngày, mười ba và mười bốn; ngày mười lăm mới nghỉ ngơi và ăn mừng chiến thắng. 19Vì thế, người Do Thái sống ở thôn quê vẫn giữ ngày mười bốn tháng chạp làm ngày lễ ăn mừng và tặng quà cho nhau.Lễ Phu-rim
20Mạc-đô-chê ghi chép các điều này, và gửi thư cho người Do Thái trong khắp các tỉnh xa gần của đế quốc Vua A-suê-ru, 21bảo họ hàng năm giữ hai ngày mười bốn và mười lăm tháng chạp làm ngày lễ, 22ăn mừng vui vẻ, gửi quà cho nhau và cho người nghèo khổ, vì đó là những ngày người Do Thái được giải thoát khỏi kẻ thù, đổi buồn ra vui, khổ đau thành sung sướng. 23Người Do Thái vẫn tiếp tục giữ ngày lễ này, theo yêu cầu của Mạc-đô-chê. 24Vì Ha-man, con Ha-mê-đa-tha người A-gát, kẻ thù người Do Thái, đã lập mưu tiêu diệt họ, bỏ thăm định ngày tàn sát, 25nhưng khi Hoàng hậu Ê-xơ-tê đến gặp vua, thì vua ban hành sắc lệnh trút lên đầu Ha-man âm mưu ác độc ông toan hại người Do Thái, nên ông và các con trai đều bị treo cổ. 26Vì thế ngày lễ này gọi là “Phu-rim,” tiếng Ba Tư có nghĩa là “Gieo súc sắc.” Qua biến cố đã xảy ra và nhiều sự kiện được chứng kiến tận mắt, 27cũng như theo lời yêu cầu của Mạc-đô-chê, người Do Thái trong toàn đế quốc đã ấn định cho họ, cho dòng dõi và cho những người nhập tịch Do Thái, mỗi năm phải giữ đúng ba ngày lễ ấy. 28Tại mỗi tỉnh, mỗi thành phố, từ thế hệ này qua thế hệ khác, mỗi gia đình Do Thái đều phải giữ kỷ niệm ngày lễ Phu-rim, mãi mãi về sau con cháu cũng không hề quên. 29Hoàng hậu Ê-xơ-tê, con gái A-bi-hai và Mạc đô-chê, người Do Thái một lần nữa lại gửi công văn chính thức xác nhận ngày lễ Phu-rim. 30Văn kiện này gửi cho tất cả người Do Thái ở 127 tỉnh trong đế quốc của Vua A-suê-ru, với lời lẽ hòa khí, 31xác nhận ngày lễ Phu-rim phải được giữ hàng năm theo chỉ thị của Mạc-đô-chê người Do Thái và Hoàng hậu Ê-xơ-tê, và theo như toàn dân Do Thái đã ấn định cho họ và cho con cháu về lễ tưởng niệm ngày toàn dân kiêng ăn cầu nguyện. 32Công văn của Hoàng hậu Ê-xơ-tê xác nhận ngày lễ Phu-rim đã được chép vào sách sử.

How do I do a word study?

When you click on a word, the detailed lexicon opens with:
'Vocabulary' Bibles link the translation to Greek & Hebrew. So far, only some Bibles have this vocabulary feature. They are shown in the Bible select screen with the letter 'V'.
It is the number of occurrences of a word in the Bible. Click on it to see them all in the selected Bible(s).
This reveals different forms for some words and names. These details are often interesting to scholars, eg the word 'beginning' in Genesis.
